Bishop Jeremiah Park-July 22

Mark your calendar and plan to join us for Sunday services on July 22nd.  Our Sunday morning service begins at 10:30. We are honored that Bishop Jeremiah Park will join us.  Bishop Park serves the northeastern jurisdiction of the United Methodist Church.  He was appointed to this post in 2012.  To learn more about Bishop Park, see his profile.

If you are joining us for services and want to also attend Sunday dinner at the boarding hall thereafter, please be sure to have a reservation.  You can make a reservation by leaving a message on the Boarding Hall phone line: 570-864-3843 or by contacting Mary Walters: 570-864-2229.

Photo Directories Available!

Cottageholders! Color photo directories are available for sale at cottage 34 from Judy Rampp and soon Linda will likely have a supply as well. Each copy is $5. We hope to sell at least 50 so we can break even on the printing costs and costs for the new map a young artist made. It will be available online in the cottageholder only area after campmeeting. Any profits will be donated to the Grove. Come and get them!

Order your printed photo directory!

When our new cottageholder photo directory is completed in a few weeks it will be available to cottageholders only in our online cottageholders file share in DropBox.

However, cottageholders only are also welcome to order one or more printed copies.  These will cost $5 each to defray the cost of the color printing, etc.  While pre-ordering isn’t required, having a sense for how many copies may be desired will help us avoid printing too many.

Visit  our Pre-order Form to let us know you are interested.

150th Celebration!

Visit https://pattersongrove.org/150th-celebration-information where we have information about all of our planned special events.

Below are details about a couple of special events.

Visit www.pattersongrove150years.org for tickets!

Victorian Tea: If you belong to the Grove, either as a cottageholder or someone who is part of us without owning a cottage, there will be NO charge for the Tea.  Cottageholders can purchase guest tickets for $5 each.  Others wishing to participate may buy tickets for $10 each.   Little girls five years and older are invited; the same price rules apply to them.   Old time dress is encouraged for the Tea.

Other planned events:
The first Sunday afternoon of Campmeeting will feature a “Through the Decades” Hymn Sing.  You may be surprised at the decade in which some of our favorite hymns, songs, and praise choruses were written.  We are encouraging old time dress for this first day.

The last Sunday will feature an “Entire Bible Proclamation Service” in the afternoon.  We are asking that you get a ticket for this event just so we can plan on the number of participants.  There is NO CHARGE for the ticket.  This service has been done in other locations and has proven to be a spiritual highlight for those participating.  Each person – child, youth, and adult – is given a portion of Scripture to read.  If you go to the Snack Shop after church you know how everyone is talking at the same time.  That’s the way the service goes…everyone will read their section of Scripture at the same time, and when everyone has completed that section, after prayer, the next section is read.  (We plan to have bottles of water and hard candy on hand to keep you refreshed.)  The reading of the entire Bible will take less than two hours.  We believe this will be an exciting and spiritually uplifting service to lead us to the final evening service and March to Zion.

Water Update

Patterson Grove has secured all of the necessary approvals from PA’s Department of Environmental Protection.  The water has been declared officially safe to use and consume, effective Friday, May 19th.
